An open-house style public meeting to solicit public comments and input for revisions to the 2012 Unified Transportation Program (UTP), which covers fiscal years (FY) 2012 through 2021, revisions to the 2013 UTP, which covers FY 2013 through 2022, and the 2013-2016 Statewide Transportation Improvement Plan (STIP).

The UTP is a comprehensive ten-year plan for the development and construction of State of Texas transportation projects including roadways, aviation, public transportation, waterways and coastal waters, and rail projects and includes specific funding levels for each fiscal year.

The STIP is a mechanism used by TxDOT and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to fund projects for the next four years and includes all federally funded projects.

Description: The Unified Transportation Program:
  • Serves as TxDOT's ten-year plan to guide transportation project development.
  • Includes distribution of funding for 12 project categories.
The Statewide Transportation Improvement Program:
  • Reflects the federally funded transportation projects in the FY 2011-2014 Transportation Improvement Programs (TIPs) for each Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) in the state.
  • Includes both state and federally funded projects for the nonattainment areas of Beaumont, Dallas-Fort Worth, El Paso, and Houston.
  • Contains information on federally funded projects in rural areas that are not included in any MPO area, and other statewide programs as listed.
