Public Meeting - I-610 West Loop

Where: Junior League of Houston
1811 Briar Oaks Lane
Houston, TX 77027
When: Thursday, May 21, 2015
5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Purpose: The purpose of the meeting is to gather public input on the proposed dedicated bus lane on I-610 West Loop from I-10 (Northwest Transit Center) to Post Oak Boulevard in Harris County.

Description: Proposed construction of the dedicated bus lanes include:
  • Two-lane structure over the west frontage road of I-610 West Loop
  • Crossing to the center of I-610 West Loop
The total project length is 1.5 miles. No additional right of way or displacements are expected.

The purpose of the project is to remove bus traffic on I-610 West Loop from I-10 to Post Oak Boulevard. Dedicated bus lanes would allow buses to move more effectively and predictably between the Northwest Transit Center and the planned Bellaire/Uptown Transit Center.

The public meeting will be conducted in English. Citizens that need special communication, accommodation or an interpreter are encouraged to contact the TxDOT Houston District public information officer at least two business days before the meeting at (713) 802-5072.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by the FHWA and TxDOT.
