Public Meeting - Presidio-Ojinaga International Port of Entry

Presentation: 6 p.m.
   
Purpose: The purpose of the meeting is to provide information and gather input from the public about the Presidio-Ojinaga International Port of Entry project. An open house will begin at 5 p.m., with a presentation at 6 p.m.
   
Description: The proposed project would improve the movement of both personal and commercial traffic, reduce congestion and bridge wait times, facilitate the continued free flow of commodities between the United States and Mexico and improve safety. The four alternative plans include:
  • Adding capacity to the existing structure
  • Constructing a parallel twin two-lane bridge
  • Constructing a two-lane bridge on a new location
  • No-build alternative
Proposed improvements include a new U.S. toll plaza and U.S. Customs and Border Protection inspection facility. Improvements would also include the approach roadway on the U.S. side. The public is encouraged to attended this meeting and provide comments. Written comments will be received until 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 1, 2014.
