Public Meeting: Lampasas, Mills and San Saba Counties

Where:	Hostess House Meeting Room 1406 U.S. 281 South Lampasas, TX 76550	When:	Thursday, March 27, 2014 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Purpose:	The Texas Department of Transportation is seeking comments on the initial adoption of the proposed FY 2015-2018 Rural Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for the Brownwood District, including the public’s ideas for the improvement and growth of the transportation system and to hear which improvements have been scheduled in this area. In addition, TxDOT seeks input on public transportation funding for elderly persons and persons with disabilities. The TIP is a mechanism used by TxDOT and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to fund projects for the next four years and includes all federally funded projects.

Description:	The Rural Transportation Improvement Program: Examines all modes of transportation including highways, inter-city buses, rural aviation, rural port access, freight movement and bicycle and pedestrian facilities. Identifies planned improvements for highways by focusing on rural added capacity projects that address statewide mobility and connectivity goals. Includes a ranked list of district highway projects to be used as a guide to shape the future of rural transportation.
