Open House - I-10 at FM 3180 Intersection, FM 3180 and FM 2354 Improvements

Purpose:

The purpose of the public meeting is to gather public input on three proposed projects including the intersection of I-10 at FM 3180, along FM 3180 (from I-10 to 0.60 miles south of FM 565), and FM 2354 (from FM 3180 to 0.25 miles south of Fisher Rd), in Chambers County, Texas. The meeting will be an open house format so the public may come and go at their convenience, and staff will be available to answer questions.

Description:

Proposed improvements include the following:

• Reconstruct the I-10 and FM 3180 intersection: I-10 will be rebuilt as an overpass across FM 3180; currently, FM 3180 is an overpass across I-10
• Improve FM 3180 with a traffic signal and widen FM 3180 to a four-lane section with a two-way left turn lane at the I-10 intersection
  
• Widen FM 2354 and add a two-way left turn lane and a northbound left-turn lane at Fisher Road

The purpose of these projects are to improve safety and increase mobility. All projects will be constructed within the existing right-of-way (ROW). No additional ROW will be required.

The meeting will be conducted in English. Any person interested in attending the meeting who has special communication or accommodation needs, such the need for an interpreter, are encouraged to contact the TxDOT Beaumont District, at (409) 898-5745. Requests should be made at least two days prior to the meeting. Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate these needs. Comments must be submitted on or before Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017.

The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
