|Purpose:||TxDOT invites members of the public to join us for an Open House to “Meet the Contractor” and learn about construction improvements on the I-35 project from Stassney Lane to William Cannon Drive. Attendees will be able to review materials, ask questions, and speak with members of the project team.
At the open house, we’ll cover topics like:
|Description:||We know you’ve got to get where you need to go. The William Cannon project is updating more than 3 miles of I-35 in southeast Austin to get drivers places faster, safer and smarter. During construction, crews will build a variety of improvements including new U-turn bridges at Stassney and William Cannon, wider mainlanes to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes, reconstructed overpasses and improved bicycle and pedestrian accommodations.
Construction of the William Cannon project began in July 2016 and is expected to last through 2019.
