Open House - South Clack Restriping

Where:

New Hope Church
3122 S. Clack St.
Abilene, TX 79606 (Map)

When:

Thursday, July 6, 2017
4 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Purpose:

The frequent turns and speed variations coupled with acceleration from side streets and driveways have created a highly stressful situation for drivers going to and from the many destinations adjacent to the road and city streets. Persuading thru traffic to use the left two lanes of this stretch of frontage road should permit exiting and entering traffic to do so in a less-stressful environment. Reducing speed variation and weaving while increasing driver expectation and overall safety in this locale are the end goals. The project is expected to start late July or early August and take about two weeks to complete. Improving the safety of the traveling public and the patrons of the many retail stores, restaurants and other businesses in this vicinity can be a win-win for all involved.

Special accommodations: TxDOT makes every reasonable effort to accommodate the needs of the public. The open house will be in English. If you have a special communication, accommodation or need for an interpreter, a request can be made. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can also be made to accommodate most needs. Please call (325) 676-6817 at least five working days prior to the meeting. Please be aware that advance notice is requested as some accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.

The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and TxDOT.
