In November, 2010, the Texas Transportation Commission adopted the Statewide Long-Range Transportation Plan 2035 (SLRTP) which serves as the state's 24-year, multi-modal "blueprint" for the transportation planning process.
TxDOT has recently begun work on the rural component of the SLRTP, now referred to as the Texas Rural Transportation Plan (TRTP). The TRTP will be a detailed multimodal assessment of rural connectivity needs and include a statewide prioritized list of highway projects for the years 2021-2035.
Collaborative Process
As with the SLRTP, development of the TRTP is a collaborative process involving TxDOT, rural stakeholders such as regional councils of government, rural transportation planning organizations, the travelling public and various public and private transportation organizations.
Well-informed stakeholders can provide valuable input to the transportation decision making process. Public involvement opportunities are available for the public to provide input and to comment.
Open Records Requests
This page is for public comments concerning the TRTP, not for responding to requests for information. If you would like to make a request for information from TxDOT, please view our Open Records Policy.
