Payment Information

Customers may pay their motor carrier fees using several payment options:

Credit cards are accepted for all motor carrier electronic and faxed applications. A non-fundable $1 processing fee will be charged.

An escrow account may be opened with TxDOT to pay for oversize/overweight permits and temporary registration. To set up an escrow account:

• Contact the Motor Carrier Division to obtain an account number
• Complete the Letter of Agreement
• Deposit an initial sum of $305, payable by cashier's check, money order, personal/company check or MasterCard/Visa
• Complete the Deposit for Escrow Account payment slip
• Submit the Letter of Agreement, Deposit for Escrow Account and payment to: Texas Department of Transportation, Finance Division, P.O. Box 5020, Austin, TX 78763-5020. Express mail should be sent to Texas Department of Transportation, Finance Division, 125 E. 11th Street, Austin, TX 78763-2483.

A Permit Account Card (PAC) may be used for TxDOT motor carrier fees by establishing a FirstPay account through Frost Bank San Antonio with funds adequate to cover permit and motor carrier registration fees. Once funds are in the account, you are issued a Permit Account Card. The cost of this service is charged to your account.
