PROCEEDINGS
MR. WILLIAMSON: Good afternoon. It is 3:00 p.m., and I would like
to call the special meeting of the Texas Transportation Commission
to order.
The public notice of this special meeting containing all items on
the agenda was filed with the Office of the Secretary of State at
10:03 a.m. on September 5, 2007. We call this special meeting for
the primary purpose of continuing the process of selecting a new
executive director of the Texas Department of Transportation.
In a few minutes we will recess this meeting and enter into
executive session for a second round of interviews. At the
conclusion of these interviews we will either name a new executive
director or defer action and continue our deliberations at a later
date.
We will return to open session at the conclusion of the interview
process and announce which of these actions we will take.
Do any of the Commissioners wish to make a comment at this time?
(No response.)
MR. WILLIAMSON: We will now recess our open meeting to go into
executive session under Section 551.074 of the Government Code to
interview and discuss the election of the executive director of
TxDOT. It is now 3:03 p.m.
(Whereupon, the Commission went into executive session.)
MR. WILLIAMSON: The meeting of the Commission is called back to
order at --
VOICE: 9:38.
MR. WILLIAMSON: -- 9:38 p.m. to recess for a break -- we're not
breaking. The time is now 9:38 p.m., and the special meeting of the
Texas Transportation Commission is called back to order. They gave
me the wrong piece of paper about excusing the --
The Commission has concluded its executive session and we announce
the following action we're taking. Phillip, Amadeo and Steve --
where's Steve? All three of you were smashing, so smashing that
we're not able to make a decision at this time.
Is there any other business to come before the Commission?
VOICE: No.
MR. WILLIAMSON: There being none, I will entertain a motion to
adjourn.
MR. UNDERWOOD: So move.
MR. HOUGHTON: Second.
MR. WILLIAMSON: There's a motion and a second. Please note for the
record it's 9:40 p.m. This meeting stands adjourned.
