Susan Sampson is the director of the Texas Automobile Burglary and
Theft Prevention Authority (ABTPA).
Sampson is the Committee Chair for the International Auto Theft Investigators
Associations, Auto Theft Authority Committee. She has been with ABTPA for 15
years.
In her present position, Sampson recommends and advises the ABTPA Board of
Directors and the Department of Transportation on policies, procedures, and
strategies of automobile burglary and theft prevention in Texas. Her duties
include coordinating automobile burglary and theft prevention activities with
grantees, local and state law enforcement agencies and other governmental
entities as requested and appropriate to ABTPA's mission.
Sampson has also created and implemented media campaigns that require her to
work closely with advertising agencies in planning, developing, scripting, and
producing multi-media educational and awareness programs, such as ABTPA’s
current WATCH YOUR CAR campaign. She also works with ABTPA law enforcement
grantees in monitoring and evaluating their automobile theft prevention
programs, and in coordinating their local public education programs.
A native of Beaumont, Sampson brings a diversity of experience to ABTPA, ranging
from the performing arts to public relations, community organization, marketing,
fundraising and voluntarism. Prior to joining ABTPA, Sampson was director of the
Texas Attorney General's nationally acclaimed Child Support Enforcement
Volunteer Program.
Sampson is the proud mother of two children, Lance Lubel, an attorney in Houston
and Shelly Sampson, a teacher in Houston. The most exciting event has been her
granddaughter, Caroline, age 11. |
