Lonnie J. Gregorcyk, P.E., is the district engineer for the
Yoakum District of the Texas
Department of Transportation (TxDOT). The district is composed of Austin,
Calhoun, Colorado, DeWitt, Fayette, Gonzales, Jackson, Lavaca, Matagorda,
Victoria and Wharton Counties.
He joined TxDOT in 1984 as an engineer assistant in our Victoria area office.
After four years, he was promoted to a project engineer. He held positions as advanced planning
engineer and supervising planning engineer at the Yoakum District office before
being promoted to Yoakum Area Engineer in 1995.
As an area engineer he was
responsible for design, construction, administration and maintenance operations
for DeWitt, Lavaca and Gonzales counties. He served as the district's Director
of Transportation, Planning and Development from 1998 to 2003. In 1998, under
his direction, the Yoakum District received a Design Excellence Award. He
served as interim district engineer before being appointed District Engineer
for the Yoakum District on December 1, 2003.
Lonnie earned his bachelor’s
degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M University in 1984 and became a
licensed professional engineer in 1989. He currently serves on the Victoria
Metropolitan Planning Organization, as well as the I-69 Advisory Committee. He
is actively involved in church and civic activities in the Yoakum area.
Lonnie and his wife Anne
reside in Yoakum with their three daughters, Colleen, Angie and Kayla. |
