With Texas sharing 1,250 miles of the 2,000 mile border between the United States and Mexico, TxDOT must coordinate with Mexico on all aspects of transportation in the region and exchange technical information to improve traffic flow across the Rio Grande.
The International Relations Office is our primary liaison to our Mexican counterparts. The office also supports the governor, secretary of state and legislative and national committees related to the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), and it coordinates with countries worldwide on operations, information and visits relating to transportation activities.
The office also ensures the coordination of international-related strategic and operational plans within districts and divisions, and across all program areas.
Augustus “Gus” De La Rosa, Jr., serves as director. Contact us with questions or comments regarding the International Relations Office.
