Odessa District Engineer

Mike McAnally, P.E.Mike McAnally, P.E., is district engineer for the 12-county Odessa District which includes Andrews, Crane, Ector, Loving, Martin, Midland, Pecos, Reeves, Terrell, Upton, Ward, and Winker counties. As the district engineer, he oversees the construction and maintenance activities of over 300 employees for the nearly 3,400 miles of highways across an 18,000-square mile area of West Texas.

McAnally,  a 27-year TxDOT veteran, has served as the Director of Operations in the Odessa District since 1993 and, over the past year, has also served as the Interim Director of Transportation, Planning and Development.

Mike joined TxDOT's Odessa District as a summer hire engineering aide in his hometown of Fort Stockton while earning his bachelor's degree in civil engineering at Texas A&M University. After earning his degree in 1982, he began full time in the Midland Area Office as an engineering assistant and was named the assistant area engineer in 198? In 1989, he was promoted to the assistant district field operations engineer in Odessa prior to his appointment as Odessa area engineer in 1990.

He received his license as a professional engineer in 1987.

McAnally and his wife, Janeé, live in Midland and have six children; five boys-Brad, Christopher, Joshua, John and Zachary, and one girl-Carolyn.
